Synopsis (EN): Ms. Smith teaches English to French teenagers. One day her 10th-graders play a strange game where a few students secretly choose a classmate to be “eliminated”, in this case Cécile, and then the rest have to guess “Who killed Cécile?” Then both Cécile and the boy who picked her disappear. Suddenly, it’s not just a game anymore. Anaïs, a girl who often finds herself alone at home and in class, begins to find some disturbing clues. 
About the author (EN): Teresa Louise Torgoff has long known all kinds of teenagers, as a bi-cultural kid herself, then a lawyer advocating for youth in trouble in France, and now a secondary school French teacher in Virginia, where she has been teaching for 7 years. She wrote these books not only as material appropriate for her students’ learning level, but also as reading they would find compelling. Like her classroom teaching, these texts are based on a comprehensive approach that favors actively drawing students into a language from the start, so that they enjoy and get comfortable using it, and then seek to master its rules.

À propos de l'auteur (FR): TERESA TORGOFF a grandi en France et est arrivé aux USA en 2012 pour être professeur de français. Elle a écrit ces petits livres pour permettre aux apprenants d'avoir accès à  une littérature qui les passionne mais avec un vocabulaire choisi pour eux.
